Replacing your generator

Learn how to replace or install your generator.

Required materials: new generator, Torx T20 screwdriver.

 Instructions

  • Step 1 :
    • Turn off the device and unplug the power cable before any handling.
  • Step 2 :
    • Open both doors and remove the two front screws located under the top cover (on NOVVEN 3 only).
  • Step 3 :
    • Remove all screws located on the top cover.
  • Step 4 :
    • Slide the cover forward a few centimeters, then lift it completely off the cabinet.
  • Step 5 :
    • After locating your generator, remove the four screws from the lower mounting brackets (not the upper ones).
  • Step 6 :
    • Gently disconnect the three connectors from the electronic board (do not pull on the wires).
  • Step 7 :
    • Disconnect the flexible hose from the ventilation unit.
  • Step 8 :
    • Pull all generator wires out through the cable gland.
  • Step 9 :
    • Remove the generator from the technical compartment, making sure no wires are trapped.
  • Step 10 :
    • Take the new generator out of its packaging and screw it in place using four screws at the bottom.
  • Step 11 :
    • Carefully reconnect the three connectors (see video for connection orientation) to the electronic board, routing them through the cable gland if needed.
  • Step 12 :
    • Reconnect the hose to the main ventilation unit and secure it with a cable tie.
  • Step 13 :
    • Reposition the top cover.
  • Step 14 :
    • Screw the cover back on at the top.
  • Step 15 :
    • Reinstall the two front screws under the cover (on NOVVEN 3 only).
  • Step 16 :
    • Place the used generator in the new one’s packaging and return it to JVD for recycling.
